       After singing the national anthem and our school song, Mr Phang, the school principal handed the class monitors the Malaysian frag-"Jalur Gemilang" while the patriotic song "Keranamu Malaysia" was being played.After this, Ho Yik Huen from class 3C1 recited a malay poem entitled 'Pada Tarikh Keramat Ini'.

       The lauching of the recycling programme and 'shake-hand day'were also carried out that day. Mr Lim urged the students to stop the habit of throwing rubbish irresponsibly. Mr Chai Eng Kim, the president of the school's PTA also gave a speech, stressing that students should learn from the Korean schools, which does not allow rubbish to be thrown irresponsibly.

       Apart from that, our school Wushu society gave a delightful presentation. YSSM( Young Christian Student Movement) also presented a slideshow which included the history of our independence day and about the importance of recycling and saving our mother Earth. Miss Jo Chiang, a representative from Double A also gave us a briefing about a competition organized by Double A in their effort to do their part in recycling. In addition to that, USST donated RM2000 to the school for the upcoming Jogathon organized by our school. The scouts also contributed RM2000 for this upcoming event. Lastly, the entire school joined in our voice and sang a few patriotic songs.
