A Visit From The Prime Minister, Dato Seri Abdullah Badawi

       Dato Seri Abdullah Badawi, paid a visit to our school, SMJK Sam Tet, Ipoh on the 23rd of October,2007. At about 2.30 pm, the school board played a few songs to welcome the prime minister into the school hall. down the aisle and towars the stage, wishing to be able to shake hands with the great leader of our country.The ceremony then began with the national anthem, "Negaraku and was succeeded with a speech by Dato Seri Ong Ka Ting, the MCA president. Dato Seri Ong Ka Ting praised the Prime Minister in his efforts to promote racial integration and the efforts be made to help the less fortunate chinese. He also gave a brief introduction on Sam Tet and mentioned about the school's Jogathon collection.

       This was followed with a speech from the Prime Minister himself, Dato Seri Abdullah Badawi spoke on the importance of racial harmony and the importance of education for the younger generation. He also stressed on the role parents play in educationg yhr young. The prime minister was then invited to give out prizes to Sam Tet students with outstanding achievements academically and in extra-curricular activities. Then, the school wushu team gave a superb performances. After this, the guess was treated to some food before proceeding home.
