The English Language Society of Penang Chinese Girls’ High School is committed to cultivating students in the school to have a deep understanding of the English language and helping students improve their English language ability. Therefore, the existence of the English Language Society is undoubtedly a suitable environment for learning and communication, so that students who love English can improve their English language skills, cultivate their passion for literature, and develop strong communication skills altogether.
The English Language Society runs a range of activities to help members build their confidence in expressing their views and opinions in English fluently. These activities include debates, speech contests and storytelling events. These activities encourage members to develop effective communication skills while also exploring contemporary issues in today’s society and presenting their perspectives, which helps members keep up with society’s progress and encourages members to think flexibly. Not only that, the English Language Society also lets members play English Scrabble. Members can not only enhance their language skills through Scrabble, but also enhance their relationships with other members.
