RETIREMENT CEREMONY OF MADAM ONG SIDE LEE

 

           Madam Ong Side Lee completed her primary education at Kwang Hwa Primary School, Butterworth and her secondary education at Penang Chinese Girls’ High School. She completed her Sixth Form studies at Chung Ling High School. After completing her Form Six, she entered the Penang Teachers’ Training College in 1977 to undergo a three–year teacher training programme specialising in Mathematics.

            Madam Ong Side Lee was first posted to SMK Seri Kembangan, Selangor in 1979. After three years, she got a transfer to SMJK Chio Min, Kulim in 1981 and taught there for seven years before going over to SMK Bukit Mertajam in 1988. She taught for four years at SMK Bukit Mertajam.

            In 1991, Madam Ong Side Lee got a transfer to Heng Ee High School and taught in Heng Ee High School for twenty-two years until her retirement, effective from the 2^nd of January 2014.  All in all, Madam Ong Side Lee has 34 years and 8 months of creditable teaching service.

           Madam Ong Side Lee loves teaching Mathematics and she believes that

Mathematics, like many other things, is best learnt by actually, doing the given sums.
