Exercise: Display Frame Hints
Make a copy of your original nonframes home page. Edit this copy for the
frames version that you're creating here. (You don't want to mess up the original
nonframes version
while you experiment with frames.)
-
Save the copy of your home page in a file named display.html.
-
Edit display.html to remove all the links to other pages (at least get rid of the ones
that you've put in your table of contents file, in case you decided not to move all
your links to the toc frame).
-
Edit / reword the text of display.html as necessary, so that the removal of the links
you'd had there doesn't lead to a mass of incomprehensible gobblegook.
(You never want to adopt a new format for your web pages if doing so will
make them less usable.)
Or "take the easy way out":
just copy your original home page file to display.html and don't change it
at all. Then your toc frame can just repeat the links in your initial display frame.
