本校华乐团于2023年4月29日为华乐团的中一新生举行了一场迎新会。此次迎新会的目的是为了让中一新生们能认识团内的各种乐器及对本校华乐团有一个更深入的了解。此次迎新会开始于早上8时并持续到早上11时，期间以新生们的自我介绍开始，其次以高委们为新生们讲解团规及欣赏各种乐器的精彩演奏，如：由扬琴所演奏的家喻户晓的曲子《茉莉花》，倍大提琴带来的加勒比海盗配乐《他是个海盗》，笛子及中音笙二重奏的中式古风歌曲《兰亭序》，以及高音笙带来的最为精彩的动漫插曲《铃芽之旅》（suzume）等乐器的精彩表演。与此同时，其他团员也并非无所事事。她们都在欣赏学姐或学妹们的演出及努力辨认新生的长相以增进彼此的感情。此次迎新会以新生们上到天台咨询并加入心仪的乐器的方法及旧生们恢复至普通练习阶段为结尾。相信新生们能够通过此次的迎新会对本校华乐团有一个更加深刻的理解，也相信她们以后都能在各自的乐器发光发热，带领本校华乐团前往一个更高的境界。

     On 29 April 2023, an orientation was held by the school Chinese Orchestra for the newbies who signed up for the Chinese Orchestra. The purpose of this orientation meeting is to introduce the newbies about the various musical instruments in the troupe and have a deeper understanding of the school's Chinese Orchestra. The orientation session started at 8:00 am and lasted until 11:00 am. During the period, the newbies introduced themselves, and then the senior committee members explained the rules of the orchestra and watched wonderful performances of various instruments,as an example ,a well-known song "Jasmine" played by the dulcimer, the soundtrack of Pirates of the Caribbean "He's a Pirate" brought by double bass , an ancient Chinese song "Preface to Lanting" by the duet of flute and the alto sheng, and the most wonderful song by treble sheng "Suzume"produced by the anime episode“Suzume”. At the same time, the old members were not idle either，they were all admiring the performances from the seniors or the juniors and were trying to identify the appearance of the newbies in order to enhance the relationship between them. The orientation ended with the newbies going to the verandah to inquire about how to join the musical instruments that they like and the old members returning to the normal practice session.It’s believed that the newbies will have a deeper understanding of the school's Chinese orchestra, and there’s a hope by the seniors they will shine in their respective instruments in the future and lead the school's Chinese orchestra to a better realm.
