2023年8月14日，STEM社团在学校的创客实验室举办了一个木工工作坊。此次活动的目的是为学生提供实际操作的经验，培养实用技能、创造力和解决问题的能力。通过设计、测量和制作钉线艺术，学生在促进团队合作和安全意识的同时，深入理解了数学、科学和工程原理。木工工作坊以介绍木材切割技术开始，为学生打下了坚实的基础。随后，她们学习了木材平滑处理的过程，确保为钉线艺术作品打造出光滑的基底。在此之后，学生为钉线艺术作品勾勒出精致的图案，将设计技能与精确工艺相结合。她们小心翼翼地在木材上钻孔以嵌入钉子，将她们的构想变为现实。完成钉线艺术后，她们开始运用压力喷雾设备添加丰富的色彩，为作品增添生机。这项全面的活动让学生能够深入参与木工工艺，从而充实了她们的学习体验。通过这项活动也让她们知道了身为女生的她们也是可以做这类工作，她们可以运用自己的创意来制作出精美的作品，甚至是感受到木工的魅力之处，从而心生喜爱，爱上木工。

     On 14 August 2023,the STEM Club had a woodworking session at the school’s MakerLab. The purpose of this activity is to provide students with a hands-on experience that fosters practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving. Through designing, measuring, and constructing nail string art, the students developed a deeper understanding of mathematics, science, and engineering principles while promoting teamwork and safety awareness. The woodworking session commenced with an introduction to wood cutting techniques, setting the foundation for the students. It progressed to the process of smoothing the wood, ensuring a polished base for their nail string art. Following this, students sketched out the intricate patterns for their nail string art, combining design skills with precision. Carefully drilling the wood to embed nails, they brought their visions to life. With the nail string art complete, they embraced colour, utilising a pressure-powered spray to add vibrant hues. This comprehensive activity allowed students to engage deeply with woodworking. Through this activity, they also know that as girls, they can also do this kind of work.
