On 16 October 2003, SMJK Sin Min was visited by two personnels from The Star. Mr. V. Chandrasekaran and his colleague Mr. Eric visited the school at about 9.30 a.m. and spent about 2 and a half hours inquiring and witnessing the school's smartcard system.
